Barcelona President Sandro Rosell proposes for a football game between Israel and the Palestinians as a step forward towards peace in the Middle East.
"We'll be happy, with the Palestinian leader and Israel, to promote the idea of a football match for peace," he said Thursday (9/2) in a joint statement with the President of Israel Shimon Peres in tel Aviv.
"FC Barcelona, with humility, hope to contribute as an attempt to strengthen the bridges of peace and dialogue among the communities of Israel and Palestine," said Rosell following the previous statement.
According to the peace of Barcelona's number one just might come true if trust, a sense of respect, and understanding can be present among the people involved in this respect.
"We believe with all our hearts that games involving Barca, by working with the people of Israel and Palestine, can contribute to strengthen their back line is necessary for people to live side by side in peace." (afp/lex)
